Pastor John and his wife, Dianne, started Grace River on Easter Sunday of 2005 with a handful of families meeting in a movie theatre. Today, Pastor John leads our church as the Senior Pastor with the same passion to see every generation experience the transforming power of God in every area of their lives.
THE GIFT: GOD WITH US
December is a month filled with wonder, anticipation, and celebration. As we move through this beautiful season, our hearts are drawn again to the miracle of Christmas, God with us. Not distant. Not silent. Not indifferent. But present, involved, and drawing near in love. This month at Grace River, we will unwrap four powerful themes that reveal the heart of God’s gift to the world.
WEEK 1 THE PROMISE OF HIS COMING
For centuries, God’s people waited in hope. Through prophets, signs, and promises, God whispered that a Savior was on the way. This week, we’ll remember that God always keeps His promises. No matter how long the wait or how dark the night, His Word never fails. As we begin December, let your heart rest in the truth that God is still writing your story, and His promises over your life stand firm.
WEEK 2 THE PREPARATION FOR HIS BIRTH
Before the manger came movement. God stirred hearts. He sent angels. He aligned people, places, and events to prepare the world for the arrival of the King. Just as God prepared the way for Jesus, He is also preparing something in us. This week invites us to slow down, clear the clutter, and make room in our hearts and homes for Christ. Let December be more than a busy month; let it be a spiritually intentional one.
WEEK 3 THE PRESENCE OF THE SAVIOR
On that holy night, everything changed. The Word became flesh. Heaven touched earth. God stepped into our world, not as a distant deity, but as a Savior who walks with us, understands us, and redeems us. This week, we’ll celebrate the breathtaking truth that Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us. His presence brings peace, joy, and hope in every season of life.
WEEK 4 THE PURPOSE OF HIS COMING
Jesus didn’t come just to be celebrated; He came to save. To heal. To restore. To bring light into darkness and life into what was dead. Christmas is not just a story; it’s a rescue mission. As we finish the month, we’ll rediscover the transforming purpose behind the birth of Christ and how His mission continues through us today.
I pray that throughout this Christmas season, you may experience Jesus in a fresh and personal way. Whether you are celebrating, grieving, hoping, or rebuilding, He is with you. Let’s make room for His presence, open our hearts to His promises, and share His love generously with our families, our church, and our community.
Merry Christmas, and may the gift of God’s presence fill your home with peace and joy.
