Now it's Our Turn

Pastor John and his wife, Dianne, started Grace River on Easter Sunday of 2005 with a handful of families meeting in a movie theatre. Today, Pastor John leads our church as the Senior Pastor with the same passion to see every generation experience the transforming power of God in every area of their lives.

Now It’s Our Turn to Live It Out

James 1:22; "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."

Grace River family,

What a powerful way to enter August. VBS was an amazing time full of energy, laughter, and powerful truths about loving, serving, forgiving, and praying like Jesus. Our kids were challenged in big ways, and we had a wonderful time celebrating what God had done this last Sunday. But here’s the thing: now it’s our turn.

Living It Out Starts at Home

The most powerful sermons your kids will ever hear are the ones you live every day. They notice:

- When mom and dad show grace to each other

- When love looks like patience and kindness, not just words

- When forgiveness happens over dinner

- When prayer isn't just for church, but for bedtime, car rides, and tough moments

Let them see Jesus not just at church, but in your everyday life.

If We Want Them to Walk Like Jesus, We Have to Walk With Jesus

Jesus said, "I have given you an example..."

That means we go first. Our kids are watching:

- When we choose to forgive instead of fight

- When we serve, even when it’s hard

- When we pray instead of panic

You might not feel like a pastor, but guess what? You’re your child’s first Bible teacher, prayer coach, and spiritual guide.

Let’s Keep the Momentum Going

VBS doesn’t have to stop with the last snack or craft. This week, let’s keep the spark alive:

- Love someone that’s hard to love

- Do something for someone without being asked

- Offer forgiveness, even when it’s tough

- Pray with your kids out loud, even if it’s short

Let’s not just talk about what they learned. Let’s live it.

Grace River, Let’s Be That Church

Imagine what God could do if we all lived this out:

- Kids and parents growing side-by-side

- Homes that feel like church every day

- Jesus, not just someone we sing about on Sundays, but someone we follow all week long

That’s who we want to be. A church where faith is more than words. A church where people don’t just hear the message, they see it lived out.

Let’s take what we believe and make it visible. Let’s be doers of the Word. Let’s live it out together.
